there is the obvious benefit to using fastrak. i'm here on the san mateo bridge and you can see it right there. traffic whizzing through the toll plaza. but when you look at the cash lanes, a little bit of a backup there. so fastrak has modernized the commute for a lot of people and now fastrak itself is getting a bit of an upgrade. new safeguards going into place on january 1 for fastrak and the clipper card system. they have all your personal information if you have a transponder. the metropolitan transportation commission is under orders by the legislature to destroy that information after an account has been inactive for 4.5 years. they are also supposed to be scouting for security breaches and making all of their policies more explicit. right now they have all that personal information and they say they are not sharing it with third parties but there have been some reported cases where even divorce lawyers have used that information as proof of infidelity because it can tell when and where you're going. sydnie? >> all right,

thanks for joining us. tell us, the demolition project is it going to last months. how is this going to go down? >> well, we started august of this year with some of the -- what we call the eastern ramps near the temporarily terminal site and we have moved into the upper level of the building now. today we are going to start with the wrecking ball to take down the lower levels of the building. by the end of february, we should have the building entirely down and then we'll move into the ramps that connect the building back to the bay bridge. >> reporter: big project started with gutting the entire inside which must have been quite a project. it's been there for decades. and you're planning on recycling a lot of those materials? >> yeah. there were a lot of materials that were salvaged for museums and caltrans. the wooden benches that were inside the terminal, some of the rails and so forward. we had to do some hazardous materials abatement so all that work happened while we were nol i the eastern ramps and now we started taking down the building itself. >> reporter:

we have more clouds on approach with a minor system giving us more clouds for saturday, cool us down a bit and maybe a few sprinkles. for today, however, temperatures upper 70s in santa clara and san jose. mid-70s in sunnyvale. mid-70s in palo alto and the lower to the mid-60s in pacifica and half moon bay. speaking of the bay, upper 60s in berkeley, 70 in oakland, 68 degrees in alameda. lower 80s expected from concord to pittsburg to danville to livermore and the mid-80s in antioch and in brentwood. north bay locations, pretty nice today. 75 in novato, 77 san rafael. 80 napa, sonoma, petaluma, santa rosa and expecting upper 60s in sausalito to san francisco. so i showed you that minor disturbance well off the coast. that's going to give us more clouds for saturday. also drop down our temperatures a bit. doesn't stick around for long because by sunday, more sunshine, temperatures warming up. and we'll take those warmer temperatures into monday and they will continue to warm up tuesday, wednesday and thursday. it is the eat real festival which encourages you to eat regional foods. jac
